You have a nice original example of a D(Otago) 9th reinforcements badge .It was worn by both Infantry and Mounted rifles .Period broached as sometimes seen with these earlier badges(as opposed to copper wire lugs) ,but that doesn't take away anything from it.

Here are 2 separate postcards ,photographed in New Zealand circa 1917 ,of NZMR soldiers on horseback .They are wearing mostly '' Pegasus '' type badges indicating they were post 24th reinforcements .

Members of the 10th reinforcements ,Otago Squadron. Most of the troopers in the Real picture postcard are wearing D10 cap badges .The two NCO's ,the quartermaster sergeant has 12th Otago ,badges and the Corporal ,has 5th Otago Hussars .

Here is an unidentified Auckland 10th reinforcements trooper ,wearing a A10 cap badge and plain 10 fern collars and with the earlier round flap bandolier equipment ,minus a bayonet frog !!??

Two unidentified studio portraits of Troopers wearing ''Pegasus'' badges. The first from a New Plymouth studio ,possibly 31st reinforcements .The second is believed to be from Canterbury .
