A CAC matchbox

Postby Kevan » Tue Jun 11, 2002 9:41 pm

I recently obtained from Australia an old cyclinder type wax vesta box. It has a blue label on the top with white printing, advertising "CAC The Best SPORTING CARTRIDGES", It stands 1 & 1/4" and has a sand type striker on the base. The vendor does not know its origins but it is suspected to be from the 1940s. CAC in Australia finished in about 1928, whereas in New Zealand continued into the 1980s. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed of NZ origin? Can this be done by dating the style of box?
