54 Star rimfire packet

Postby craigt » Tue May 11, 2004 12:10 am

An overseas collector has contacted me and expressed an interest in obtaining a photocopy or photo of a .54 Star rimfire packet. If these packets do exist, does anyone know of one that could be photographed or copied. I personally havent seen one and told my friend so.
CAN SOMEBODY PROVE ME WRONG??? :?:

Hi Craigt,

Unfortunately the NZCCC members are not quite active in the use of the internet. I cannot say why, I dont know. Perhaps this latest post may stir some interest. Some suggestions???

Best wishes

Craigt

iirc most all the .54 Starr Carbine cartridges that are found in NZ stem from one single source , originally in the Wanganui area , and that supply was "stored" in a tin can , piled fairly high at the time. Given that the original rifle probably came here with an American sealer in the early colonial days I doubt that any original packaging would have survived - hence none being seen to date .

Helpfull? Prolly not , but sometimes there is nt much to go on.
